MLS 2026 can communicate with a variety of third-party products and services. Some of these interfaces require the system to know where the external program is installed on the workstation or server.
These paths are configured under:
Tools → Setup → Interface Paths
The Interface Paths screen allows MLS 2026 to locate:
•External programs
•Vendor interfaces
•Legacy utilities
•Specialized third-party applications
Each supported interface is listed on the left side of the setup screen.
To assign the proper location:
1.Select the lookup icon beside the desired interface
2.Browse the computer folders
3.Locate the installation folder or executable file for that product
4.Select the appropriate location
Once saved, MLS 2026 will use that path whenever communication with the external product is required.
Some of the listed interfaces represent older technologies that are still supported for compatibility with long-time installations.
In many cases:
•Modern integrations have replaced the original standalone links
•Newer vendor systems may already be integrated directly into MLS 2026
•Certain older interfaces may no longer be actively used
The legacy path options remain available primarily for:
•Existing long-term users
•Older vendor systems still in operation
•Specialized installations
•Not all shops will use these interfaces
•Leaving unused interface paths blank is completely acceptable
•Incorrect paths may prevent communication with the third-party product
•Some interfaces may require additional vendor-specific setup
If you are uncertain whether an interface is still required for your installation, consult:
•Your system administrator
•Your vendor representative
•MasterLink Software technical support
When configuring interface paths:
•Use the lookup/browse feature whenever possible
•Avoid manually typing paths unless necessary
•Verify the external program is already installed and operational
•Keep documentation of special integrations for future reference
Because many interfaces are vendor-specific, maintaining accurate path settings helps ensure reliable communication between MLS 2026 and your external services.
