Worksheet

The Technician’s Worksheet may be customized to provide additional information and writing space for technicians performing the service work. These options are found under:

Tools → Setup → Worksheets

The worksheet serves as both:

A working document for technicians

A permanent service reference for the shop

Many shops customize worksheets to improve:

Inspection consistency

Technician communication

Quality control

Documentation of vehicle condition

Service verification procedures

Blank Lines After the Parts Section

The first option specifies how many blank lines print after the Parts listing.

These lines are commonly used for:

Additional parts added during service

Handwritten notes

Special material usage

Shop supply information

This is especially helpful when parts are added after the original worksheet was printed.

Blank Lines After the Labor Section

The second option specifies how many blank lines print at the end of the Labor section.

These lines are often used for:

Vehicle condition notes

Technician observations

Additional recommendations

Internal communication

Follow-up concerns

This provides technicians with extra room to document conditions discovered during the repair process.

Blank Lines After Each Labor Item

The third option controls the number of blank lines printed after each individual labor operation.

This allows technicians or supervisors to:

Add notes specific to that operation

Record measurements or test results

Document inspection findings

Sign off completed work

Record quality control checks

Many shops use this feature as part of their internal verification procedures.

Additional Information Printed After Each Part

Some businesses require technicians to record handwritten details about installed or removed parts.

MLS 2026 allows up to three custom lines of text to print after each part entry.

Typical examples include:

New / Used / Rebuilt verification

Warranty information

Core return status

Serial number recording

Condition of removed components

Supplier verification

These prompts help standardize technician documentation.

Additional Information Printed After Each Labor Item

Up to three custom lines may also be printed after each labor operation.

These are commonly used for:

Inspection checklists

Torque verification

Fluid confirmation

Test drive completion

Safety checks

Supervisor approval signatures

This can significantly improve service consistency and quality control.

Worksheet Printer Selection

The final option allows you to select the printer used for Technician Worksheets.

You may choose:

A local printer

A network printer

A dedicated shop-area printer

Many shops install a printer directly in the service area so technicians can immediately receive printed worksheets without interrupting office operations.

The selected printer must be visible to the workstation currently being used.

Best Practices

Well-designed Technician Worksheets can:

Improve communication between staff

Reduce missed operations

Increase documentation quality

Improve customer confidence

Create stronger warranty protection

Reinforce inspection consistency

Many successful shops treat the worksheet as both:

A technician guide

A quality control document

The few minutes spent properly configuring worksheets can greatly improve shop organization and professionalism.
