Common Problems WIth Daily Closing

The program "crashes" when doing a Daily Closing

The most common error is when an index has been blown, and the system  cannot properly update it when transfering files.    (See the  discussion on File Indexes).  Reindex your files, and then realize that you may need to use the  File Editor to clean up any duplicate records in the EPR---.DBF files.  Another cause of this problem is when the data files are contaminated  because  of faulty data base files.

Run SCANDISK first to see if the  hard disk has crashed.  If not, use the File Fix utilities from Norton Utilities, or the dSALVAGE program, to check, and repair, the damage.  If these files are damaged, you will probably have problems in other  areas which you may have been overlooking.
