MLS 2026 includes a fully integrated accounting system designed to eliminate duplicate data entry and ensure that every financial action is reflected consistently throughout the program. When information is entered once—whether through a workorder, inventory transaction, payroll entry, bank activity, or customer payment—it is automatically applied throughout all related accounting areas.
Unlike many management systems that require separate accounting packages or repeated manual posting, MLS 2026 was built around the principle that operational and financial information should function together as a single system. Workorders generate accounting activity automatically. Payroll updates employee records, banking, liabilities, and the General Ledger simultaneously. Merchant services, banking, inventory, and labor tracking all integrate directly into the accounting structure.
MLS 2026 can also export selected workorder and customer information to QuickBooks. This integration is covered in a separate section of the manual. Certain operational data, such as inventory control and many industry-specific management functions, are not transferred because QuickBooks does not provide practical support for those activities through the available Intuit interfaces.
The accounting system was originally developed using standard small-business accounting principles commonly taught in college accounting courses. Over time, it has been extensively refined and expanded specifically for the service and repair industry. Many enhancements were developed directly from the real-world experience, requests, and operational needs of shop owners and managers using the system in daily business operations.
The MLS 2026 accounting environment includes:
•General Ledger processing
•Banking and reconciliation
•Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable integration
•Payroll processing and tax management
•Employee time clock integration
•Merchant services and credit card processing
